At Mary K’s Photography OBX, we will never try to upsell you or take up more of your precious vacation time by having you meet with us again to pick out your favorite poses or purchase separate, expensive packages of prints. We feel like every photo should be yours.
Delivery
Our estimated return time for your photos is approximately 3-4 weeks in the off-season and 5-7 weeks between the months of May-October. Please understand that Mary K. does all the editing herself so you can trust that she is working hard to ensure your photos are the absolute best! There is no need to check in. (If 6 people a day email and it takes 10 minutes to reply to each, then that’s an hour away from editing.) You can trust that Mary K. is always working diligently. She will never sacrifice quality by rushing, but she will also never make you wait longer than necessary!
Also, please note that previews posted on social media do not always represent work being done that day – some previews (such as for weddings or surprise engagements) are included within 48 hours of the shoot, some previews are posted from weeks earlier and are set to post at a certain time, even if we are working on something else, but rest assured, albums are edited in order and the remainder will not be edited until all the family pics are delivered.
As soon as your album is ready, you will receive a password protected link with access to download all your photos in high-resolution. The link is good for a minimum of 180 days and there are NO limits on the number of downloads. You can share your link with family and friends and everyone can download their favorite photos on as many devices as they wish! You will also receive a full copyright release so you can print your photos anywhere you want.

A FEW GOOD THINGS TO KNOW
Mary K. normally schedules beach photos to begin either early in the mornings (Sunrise up to 9am) or at Sunset in the evenings (after 5pm depending on the time of year) due to the position of the sun and potential heat index. Mary K. will help you decide what time is best based on your location and specific needs.
Our sessions are not “timed”. Mary K. feels this distracts from the natural progression and may end up inducing stress, which we like to avoid. For planning purposes, your session will likely last about an hour. If the group is larger, we will naturally set aside more time so you will not be rushed!
Please note that Mary K. limits her number of bookings per month, so you will NEVER be just another face in the crowd! YOUR photos matter and we want you to have the best possible experience!

Please note that pets ARE WELCOME to join in! We do not charge extra for family pets! You will be responsible for your pet(s) during the shoot.
Regarding the number of photos… There are many factors that will determine how many final pics you will have, but most families typically have around 50-75+ photos. This is because in addition to your large group shots, we also break down into smaller group shots (i.e. individual families, siblings, parents, grandparents with children/grandchildren, generational photos, cousins, special requests, etc.) We like to do lots of combinations so you will have lots of pics. ♥
